MID UPGRADE TO A SMART CHARGER
No suitable meter? We take care of that
Many popular chargers have no certified MID meter, the officially calibrated meter needed for registration. Where other providers turn such a charger down, we make it eligible.

The problem
Why certified metering is required
You may only register energy that is measured demonstrably and accurately. A MID meter, an officially calibrated meter, is the standard for that: the measurement is certified and traceable. An estimate based on charging power does not count.
Many chargers do not measure with a certified meter
Popular models come in versions with and without a built-in MID meter. Think of versions from Easee, Wallbox, Zaptec or Ecotap. The type plate tells you which version you have.
What happens if you do nothing
Without certified metering you register nothing and the value of your charged energy stays untapped. Other providers turn such a charger down, we make it eligible anyway.
Two routes
We assess what makes sense per charge point. Sometimes an extra meter is enough, sometimes a new charger is the better choice.
Upgrade
We add a MID meter and a connection to your existing charger, so every session is measured with a certified meter and passed on.
When this fits
- The charger stays where it is and keeps working
- There is room in the meter cabinet or housing for a MID meter
- The charger or backend can share the sessions
- The charger is still technically in good shape
Usually scheduled within a few weeks, installation takes half a day.
Replace
You get a new charger with a built-in MID meter, immediately suitable for registration and smart charging.
When this fits
- The charger is old or can no longer be connected
- There is no room for a separate meter
- You also want more power or load balancing
- You are handling several charge points at once
Lead time depends on delivery and planning, usually a few weeks.
How an upgrade goes
- 1
Remote check
Based on brand, model and the type plate we determine whether certified metering is possible.
- 2
Advice and proposal
You get a proposal with the route that fits: upgrade or replace, per charge point.
- 3
Installation
A certified installer carries out the work at an agreed moment.
- 4
Connect and verify
We connect the charger, check the metering and switch on the registration.
Earning it back
Slide to your own charging volume and see what registration indicatively yields and how quickly an upgrade can pay for itself.
This is an indication, not a promise. The cost of an upgrade differs per situation and your payout depends on charging volume and market price. After the charger check you get a fixed price up front in a personal proposal.
Indicative yearly proceeds
€240
Indicative payback time
1-3.8 years
For installers and fleets
Do you have several charge points, or do you manage chargers for clients? Then we handle them in one project: one inventory, one proposal and a schedule that fits your operation. Installation partners work with fixed agreements and a fixed contact person.

No. During an upgrade your charger stays where it is. The installer usually needs half a day. You can only not charge while the work is being done.
